Wonder Woman Devotionals: Feeling anxious and overwhelmed (vlog)

Does feeling anxious and overwhelmed every now and again say something about your faith? Are we even allowed to feel this way if we are followers of Christ? I’m sharing my truth about this topic in my latest Wonder Woman Devo.

“Jack of all trades”

We all have pre-conceived ideas and perceptions about other people, situations and even about ourselves. A preconceived idea is an opinion formed beforehand without adequate evidence. It is when we believe something to be true before really knowing that it is.
In the words of Alanis Morissette: “I’m a little bit of everything all rolled into one”. No one is YOU and that is your superpower.

Introducing Wonder Woman

See the beauty of becoming Wonder Woman is that YOU decide what that picture looks like for you. Because Wonder Woman is YOU, she is all of us. You can become whoever you want to be, whoever the Lord intended you to be no matter your age or where you are in life.

In pursuit of excellence

During that time I did things like wash and dry my hair before going to the hairdresser because I didn’t want them to see me in a state where I am far from “perfect”. Just typing this makes me cringe – how ridiculous and absolutely counterproductive. The whole idea of going to a salon is having someone “do” your hair for a change. But as silly as it sounds, that is exactly what a perfectionist mindset will do to you.

Progress over perfection

We forget that social media is filtered, planned, photo-shopped virtual realities. We measure ourselves and our achievements to a standard which, in real life, is unachievable. And by doing this, we set ourselves up for a fall and fail because we never even try.

Adapt-“ABLE”

I always find myself wondering about the successful people – it seems that some people got very lucky and caught all the big breaks. But this is not the truth, far from it actually. We only see the success and have no idea what it took to get there. I also quickly discovered that the most successful and happy people usually have one trait in common – they are ABLE to adapt easily.

And isn’t it ironic…

When “life as I knew it” stopped it brought me to the realisation that the ONLY constant in our lives will always be change. Change is inevitable and, no matter how we feel about it, change is here to stay.
